AN UNUSUAL BEIJING ENAMEL BOX AND COVER
Yongzheng mark
The outline of the box conforming to the silhouette of two pouches
side-by-side, the cover molded in relief and painted to depict the two
pouches, each tied with a bow around the neck, one decorated with
bamboo sprigs and curling leaves on scrolling stems, the other with
scattered floral diapers, the sides of the box decorated with ears of
grain and bamboo, the foot inscribed with the four-character mark
enclosed by a pair of archaistic phoenix within a border of C-scrolls
and dots, the interior enameled turquoise, fitted box.
