the slightly domed rounded rectangular cover carved to the
top with a bearded foreigner dancing with a Buddhist lion, all
reserved on a diaper ground and encircled on the straight sides
by rocks and trees, the base carved around the sides with a
oral band, the interior and base lacquered black

foot, nely carved around the exterior in medium relief with a
band of fruiting lychee branches reserved on a oret-diaper
ground, all between narrow lappet and keyfret bands at the
foot and rim, the domed cover similarly decorated, the interior
and base lacquered black, Japanese wood box
