                                                           carved in various levels of relief depicting two scholars
                                                           conversing on a rocky outcrop beneath pine trees in a
                                                           mountainous river landscape, the river and the sky in black, the
                                                           reverse with the scene in mirror image, all within a border of
                                                           scrolling foliage on two later gilt-wood animal head feet
                                                           46 by 53 cm, 18⅛ by 20⅞ in.

                                                           immortals oating on trailing clouds being trumpeted by two
                                                           assistants before an o cial mounted on a horse, with other
                                                           attendants variously holding lanterns, a banner and playing a
                                                           drum
