By the Inaba workshop, Kyoto, Showa era (1926-1989),
mid 20th century
Of conventional form and inset with three matching removable
164 drawers, worked in silver wire with a flamboyant decoration of different
birds and flowers, the top applied with a gilt bracket handle and
decorated with a ho-o bird in flight, one side with a sparrow among
maple, the other with stems of peonies beneath plum branches, the
back with a pair of pheasants beneath flowering plum branches, the
drawers with a continuous design of a peacock standing beneath a
cherry tree, all reserved on a black ground; the base signed in silver
wire with the seal mark of the Inaba workshop.

By Kinzan, Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century
Conceived in the manner of Namikawa Sosuke, worked in copper wire
with a cockerel, hen, and chick on a pale-grey blue ground, bordered
by a band of half-chrysanthemum blossoms and stylised tendrils, the
underside decorated with a large peony blossom and tendrils; signed
Kinzan with a seal Kinzan; with a cloth-covered storage box.
