Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century Attributed to Koda Shuetsu (1881-1933) and Miki Hyoetsu I
The inrobuta (flush-fitting lid) with a kinji ground decorated in shades of (1887-1979), probably Taisho era (1912-1926), early 20th century
gold and silver takamaki-e with highlights of keuchi with leafy, flowering The exterior of the box decorated in gold hiramaki-e with sprays of
chrysanthemums blossoms and buds just across the bottom section, karakusa (‘Chinese grasses’) on the four black-lacquered corners of
the design continuing over the lid and over all four sides of the box, the inrobuta (flush-fitting lid), the inside of the lid and box embellished
beneath a gold-lacquer sixteen-petalled kikumon (chrysanthemum in gold takamaki-e with profuse windswept autumnal grasses of kikyo
crest) appearing prominently on the lid, the interior of rich nashiji and (Chinese bellflowers), ominaeshi (valerian) and susuki (plume grass),
the rims mounted with silver, unsigned; with a lacquered wood storage the underside of sparse nashiji; the tray with a continuation of the
box. 14.5cm x 26cm x 22cm (5¾in x 10¼in x 8 5/8in). (3). karakusa design, both unsigned, with a wood tomobako storage box
inscribed [..] akikusa maki-e Shunkeinuri makitabako bontsuki (Shunkei
