Two white jade belt hooks and
one white jade hairpin
18th/19th century
The larger hook with a dragon-shaped head
with bulging eyes, an open mouth and incised
teeth, facing a clambering chilong gripping a
stem of lingzhi fungus in its mouth; the smaller
hook with a two-horned dragon-head hook and
bearded chilong climbing up the shaft, mounted
on a white metal blade; the hairpin with a floral
motif incised on the ruyi-shaped head, the shaft
elegantly curving towards the rounded tip. [3]

A white jade belt hook
18th/19th century
The dragon-head hook finished with a drilled
jawline and incised parallel lines forming the
mane between its curving horns, the facing
chilong with open jaw also deeply undercut
from the handle curving over a button of
rounded rectangular form, the matrix polished
to a bright luster, displaying a faint greenish-
white cast with some cloudy white inclusions.

A spinach jade belt hook
18th/19th century
The dragon-head hook intricately worked
with curving silhouettes to the brows, horns
and snout as it faces a chilong grasping in its
jaw a lingzhi fungus branch, all accented with
engraved details and deeply undercut from the
spatulate handle curving over the large button
of rounded rectangular form; the softly polished
matrix of variegated leaf green hue marked with
paler off-white veins, natural fissure lines and
pin-point black inclusions.

Two two-section belt buckles
Qing dynasty
The larger of spinach green jade, carved with a
scalloped edge that ends in an undercut spiral
below the oval-cut loop of one section and the
dragon-head hook of the other, a coiled dragon
in high relief on each face and a deeply recessed
round button on the reverse; the second of pale
greenish-white jade, displaying a rectangular form
with indented corners and a chilong entwined
in a leaf spray in deeply undercut relief facing
the dragon-head hook on one section and the
remnants of a loop on the other, the undersides
showing a shallowly recessed round button.
