The highly-polished stone with attractive bright green inclusions,
crisply carved as a two-horned chilong head with open mouth
confronting a smaller chilong clambering and clutching in its mouth
a leafy stem.

Two agate belt hooks
Late Qing/Republic period
The larger hook carved from caramel-toned stone with a stylized
chilong head confronting the smaller clambering chilong carved from
a richer brown inclusion; the smaller hook cleverly carved with the
reddish layer of stone to highlight the chilong head and smaller chilong
amid flowers and scrolls.

A white jade ‘bird’ belt hook
Late Qing/Republic period
The even-toned white stone formed as bird with protruding forehead
and flattened beak, the rounded shaft of the hook with a high arch
ending in an upturned terminal.
