jade plaques
Ming/Qing dynasty
The largest thinly carved of convex form and
dimpled towards the center, the incised decoration
depicting a Buddhist lion playing with a ribboned
brocade ball, the second of ovoid shape and
carved with a reticulated chilong amidst foliate
scrolls, the third also reticulated and incised on
both sides with a scene of a fish transforming into
a dragon emerging from waves beneath a pavilion,
a bat and a cash floating on cloud scrolls.

jade toggle, and a hardstone

The jades Qing dynasty
The seal of even-toned white stone with russet
staining to the head and one side, carved with
a crouching horned mythical beast and the
base uncut; the toggle carved with a squirrel
perched on the rim of a lingzhi fungus spray; the
white hardstone carved as a crouching beast
with upturned snout and long, curving horns
reaching towards the hairy spine, the busy tail
swept to one side. [3]

A white and gray jade belt buckle
19th century
The two-horned dragon head finely detailed
with incised brows, teeth and flowing mane,
the clambering chilong bearded with scrolling
motifs on the body, the button with curving
incisions radiating from a small cross-hatched
medallion, the white stone marbled with pale
gray inclusions; wood stand.
