              A yellow and russet jade carving
7064          of a recumbent buffalo
              Late Qing/Republic period
48 | BONHAMS  The yellow stone with patches of russet
              staining and grayish inclusions, finely carved
              as a recumbent buffalo with smiling face and
              curving horns, the ridged spine leading over
              the russet haunches to the tail spreading over
              the hind legs tucked underneath the body.

              Two carved jade libation cups
              17th century
              The first in the form of an incense burner
              resting upon three conical supports, with
              two dragon-head decorated loop handles,
              the off-white stone cast with faint russet,
              opaque buff and cloud-like inclusions, as well
              as natural fissure veins; the second inspired
              by archaic bronze gui vessel, supported
              on a waisted circular foot, the compressed
              globular body decorated with a wide band
              of repeating scrolls, separated by a pair of
              pierced scrolling handles to each side with
              incised zoomorphic design; the stone of a
              celadon tone with numerous tiny white spots
              and grayish inclusions.
