A BLUE AND WHITE REVERSE-DECORATED “DRAGON” DISH
Daoguang mark and of the period
The shallow dish with rounded sides rising to a slightly everted rim, the
central interior decorated with a five-clawed dragon chasing a flaming
pearl amidst clouds, the cavetto with a pair of dragons in pursuit of
pearls, a similar decoration on the exterior above a band of petal
lappets, the foot inscribed with a six-character seal mark in underglaze
blue.
