A GREENISH-WHITE JADE SQUARE-SECTION BRUSH POT,
BITONG
18TH CENTURY
The slightly tapered vessel is carved standing on four ruyi-form feet. Each
convex side is carved with a panel enclosing a diferent scene of a seated
scholar in a pavilion, a cowherd, a fsherman, and a farmer, all in a natural
landscape. The stone is of an even pale tone with whitish inclusions.
