A GOLD LACQUER DOCUMENT BOX, BUNKO
Meiji/Taisho
The nashiji ground lacquered in gold takamaki-e with details of silver
and gold togidashi maki-e, highlights of kirikane and gold foil with
a bold design of a shishi leaning against a rock amid peonies by a
waterfall continuing on the sides, the interior decorated with a peony-
form headdress,
15.2cm high, 40.5cm wide, 33cm deep, with wood storage box

FIVE NETSUKE AND TWO ANTLER HANDLES
Meiji
An ivory shishi climbing on a large ball, 4cm high, a second similar
example, 4cm high, a nut carved and pierced as fruiting peach
branches, 4.1cm long, a marine ivory netsuke of a persimmon and
millet on a leaf, 4.3cm long, an ivory hexagonal manju pierced to
reveal the Three Wise Monkeys, 2.9cm diameter, an antler handle
carved as a rat on top of a furled lotus leaf, 12cm long, another carved
as a rat on top of a radish, 7.5cm long, and an ivory plaque or box
cover carved as two mice among fabric folds,

Meiji
Of rectangular section with two covers, the covers and front and back
sides of the stacked boxes decorated with a continuous design of
the Three Friends of Winter, all in gold hiramaki-e and takamaki-e on a
nashiji ground,
total height 41cm, and with fitted wooden case

A SET OF LACQUER SAKE CUPS AND A GURI-LACQUER
INCENSE BOX AND COVER, KOGO
Meiji
Three graduated cups decorated with the imperial paulownia flower in
gold hiramake-i on a red lacquer ground, on reverse a four character
mark to cardinal points on the rim in gold lacquer, 14.9cm, 13.3cm
and 14.9cm diameter, and in wooden box, together with a domed
circular box, deeply carved with stylised design through numerous
layers of red, black and ochre lacquer,
