A large iron red and polychrome enameled bat and
cloud charger
Guangxu six-character mark and of the period
Its wide curving well painted with iron red bats in flight amid clouds
rendered in rainbow hues of opaque turquoise, purple and pale yellow
enamel that repeat on the exterior walls with gilt highlighting the linear
borders, the deeply recessed base displaying the mark written in iron
red regular script with China stamped in scarlet on the glaze covering
all surfaces except the foot pad.

A large doucai enameled jardinière
19th century
The thickly potted walls of elongated ovoid form outlined in underglaze
blue and colored with iron red, yellow, green and aubergine enamels
forming four circular roundels of classic lotus flowers and leaf scrolls
separated by interlaced leaf scrolls and strap-work set between bands
of flowers, cloud collar lappets and lotus petals, the celadon tinged
glaze covering the interior and exterior walls, stopping in a neat line
along the outer surface of the concave foot, leaving an unglazed ring
surrounding the glazed and countersunk base.
