INSTRUMENT, LATE QING TO REPUBLIC
China, 1644-1912. Wood with gilding. Tiered throne with
floral decoration, golden robe with fine plaster decoration, China, 1850-1930. The stone carved to depict a bodhisattva
in which multiple fenghuan (phoenixes) are depicted, even seated in royal ease on a lotus base, wearing long flowing
inside the epaulets. The face is reddish and astonishingly robes and blowing into a wind instrument, flanked by celestial
unique and serious in its features; the once-present beard bands.
