 POWDER-BLUE GLAZED
 BALUSTER VASE, KANGXI  Japan and China, Kangxi period (1661-1722) to 19th century. Consisting of
                     seven 19th century plates, five of them painted in underglaze cobalt blue,
 China, 1661-1722. The vase of hexagonal   one with a mark to base, and two Imari plates attractively decorated, one
 baluster form, the body finely painted in gold   with an apocryphal Wanli mark to base and the second with an inscription
 with mountainous landscape scenes on each   “rich long life” to base. Four blue and white Kangxi lobed plates, one with
 side, separated by bamboo, the waisted neck   a Kangxi mark to base. And finally, two Japanese plates, the first with
 with further bamboo on one side and a vase with   raised rim and underglaze blue decoration mixed with enamel painting;
 lotus on the other, flanked by stylized dragon   the second a very rare plate worked in two techniques, the center worked
