A MOTTLED CELADON JADE
‘ARCHAISTIC’ CENSER AND COVER
18TH CENTURY
The oval-form censer has two loose ring handles
and is carved with a band of archaistic taotie and
‘C’-scrolls. The cover is similarly carved with taotie
below stylised lotus petals and surmounted with a
bud-form fnial. The stone is of a pale celadon tone
with creamy mottled inclusions.

The group is carved and pierced as two entwined cats. The stone is of a pale celadon tone with some
mottled white inclusions and small russet veins.

FANGDING
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The vessel is carved to the body with taotie between relief studs, with mythical
beast-form feet. The stone is of a mottled celadon tone with a few minor
creamy inclusions.
