THE PERIOD (1875-1908) 清光緒 青花鳳凰紋盤一對 六字楷書款

Each dish is decorated to the interior with a central roundel enclosing two
confronting phoenixes amongst clouds. The exteriors are decorated with two
further phoenixes in fight.

A SET OF TEN BLUE AND WHITE ‘CRANE
AND BAGUA’ BOWLS
GUANGXU SIX-CHARACTER MARKS IN
UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD
(1875-1908)

Each bowl is decorated in vibrant blue tones with
an alternating design of cranes and the Eight
Buddhist emblems, bagua, above a band of waves
to the base. The interiors are decorated with a
central fower head and wave roundel, a geometric
band encircling the rim.
