A RECTANGULAR ZITAN DOCUMENT-BOX
AND COVER
19TH CENTURY

The box is ftted with an interior tray and the exterior is
mounted at either end with loop handles falling to a circular
knocking plate, the front is mounted with a shaped circular
lockplate and ruyi-shaped lock, the top has ruyi-head mounts
at the corners. The wood has a rich deep tone.

The brush pot is of plain cylindrical form and raised on three short feet.

A CARVED DUAN STONE TABLE SCREEN
19TH CENTURY

The rectangular screen is carved on one side with Shoulao and the Eight
Immortals holding their various attributes and accompanied by attendants,
a crane and a deer in a landscape with pine and lingzhi fungus. The other
side is carved with a dignitary and his entourage with a fshing scholar in the
background in a river landscape.
The screen 14 x 12¬ in. (35.5 x 32 cm.), on carved wood stand
