A PAIR OF MOTHER-OF-PEARL INLAID MODELS OF CRANES AND CARVED
HARDWOOD STANDS
19TH CENTURY

Each crane is naturalistically modelled with one leg raised and its wings folded against its back. Both birds
are intricately inlaid with mother-of-pearl feathers, with fnely incised highlighted details. The stands are
carved with lotus stems growing from stylised waves and are each inset to the base with a mother-of-pearl
tablet carved with an apocryphal Qianlong seal mark.
