A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE ‘BOYS’ BOWL
JIAQING 1796-1820
Brightly painted with a continuous scene of boys
playing in a garden rich with plantain, pine and
flowers, with areas of detail picked out in gilt,
the interior and base glazed turquoise, one side
mounted with a later metal handle, with a five
character mark reading xie zhu zhu ren zao to the
base, 22.4cm.

of flaming pearls, with stylised flames and
clouds around them, the base of each with an
iron-red six character Qianlong mark, 14.2cm
and 14cm. (2)

SIX SMALL CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE WINE CUPS
AND A PAIR OF TEA BOWLS
KANGXI 1662-1722
Comprising: a pair of flared wine cups decorated with ladies, the
bases with marks reading Qi Yu Tang zhi, another similar cup also
with a Qi Yu Tang zhi mark, a cup painted with a lady and boy with
a four character Chenghua mark, a pair of hexagonal cups painted
with birds, flowers and landscapes, and a pair of tea bowls with
four character Chenghua marks, 8cm max. (8)

Provenance: from a deceased estate, Dorset. The hexagonal cups
and three cups with qi yu tang zhi marks purchased from Artemesia,
Alresford between March and June 1989. Copies of the invoices are
available.
