A RARE SEVEN-COLOR-OVERLAY CLEAR GLASS SNUFF
BOTTLE
1760-1830
Of large flattened oviform shape, the plain clear glass ground overlaid
in transparent and opaque tones of pink, yellow, red, blue, amber,
green and rust-red with a continuous lotus garden scene with peony
and prunus sprays on rockwork to one main face with blue orchid
or lily sprays to the narrow sides, the other main face with a bat and
dragonfly above lotus rising from water which surrounds the entire
raised oval foot.
