A WELL-CARVED CINNABAR LACQUER SNUFF BOTTLE
Qianlong period, 1736-95
Of flattened spade shape, very delicately carved to a darker level
below with a continuous scene with melons on a trailing leafy vine with
composite flowerheads of prunus and possibly peony dividing ruyi-
lappets at the foot and shoulder and with a cell-pattern band at the
waisted neck, coppery metal mouth and foot.
