larger qingbai example with virtually identical design sold at Christie’s
Shouno Shounsai (1904 - 1974), born in Oita, Kyushu, was the first New York, 21 March 2002, lot 148. Compare also a similar design
bamboo carver to be registered as a Living National Treasure in Japan illustrated in line drawing by J. Wirgin, Sung Ceramic Designs, London,
in 1967. 1979, fig. 12d.
