JIAJING SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF
THE PERIOD (1522-1566) 厗伶⋼忚䣦炻˪The Art of China’s Children˫炻䲸䲬炻1991
The dish with shallow rounded sides is finely painted in cobalt blue
on the interior with a medallion of four boys playing in a garden,
three shown seated on the ground with various vessels, while the
fourth stands holding a cup. The exterior is further decorated
with pairs of boys separated by pine trees, rocks and plantains in a
continuous landscape, all within double-line borders.
