DOUBLE SQUARE AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
Made in imitation of bamboo, the brush pot is superbly carved on
the exterior with a continuous riverscape depicting fishermen in
boats engaging in various activities such as casting fishing nets and
catching water birds, all within a dense rocky backdrop studded
with clusters of trees, and pavilions nestled in rolling mountains,
all under a rich amber-toned enamel. The mouth rim is finely
incised with spots in imitation of the nodes of bamboo.
