A WHITE JADE ‘MYTHICAL BEAST’ PLAQUE
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The shaped plaque is incised in low relief on one side with a seated
mythical beast with a wisp of cloud emanating from its mouth, the
reverse side is carved with a four-character inscription Shou tian bai
lu, ‘A hundred blessings from the heaven’.
