A RETICULATED WHITE JADE PLAQUE
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The elongated plaque is carved on one side of the quatrefoil panel
with double gourds borne on vines, the other side with the four
characters changyi zisun, ‘Eternal benefits for sons and grandsons’,
pierced on both ends with pairs of confronting chi dragons. The
stone is of an even ‘mutton fat’ white tone with a soft polish and
minor areas of pale russet inclusion.

A YELLOW JADE ‘THREE FRIENDS OF WINTER’
PENDANT
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The blade-shaped pendant is carved around with the ‘Three
Friends of Winter’, plum, bamboo and pine, all bundled together
by a ribbon. The stone is of a mottled greenish-yellow tone with
concentrated areas of caramel-russet inclusion.
