Meiji era
Comprising: a pair of slender ovoid vases, each worked in silver and
gilt wire with a complementary mirror design of three exotic birds in
flight among tall stalks of millet beside lilies and violets on midnight-
blue ground, each 24.7cm high; the third baluster vase worked in
gold wire with three sparrows flying over autumnal plants and flowers
growing on the banks of a stream on a midnight-blue ground.

The part-service comprising: a coffee jug and cover, 14.5cm high;
a sugar bowl and cover, 11.5cm high; a milk jug, 10cm high; two
cups, each 7cm diameter; two saucers, each 12.8cm diameter;
all similarly worked in gilt wire with an overall design of insects and
butterflies over trailing flower heads on a blue ground; together with a
kidney-shaped dish worked with butterflies among autumnal foliage
and chrysanthemums, signed Dai Nihon seizo Shippo Gaisha kojin
Takeuchi Chubei (made by Takeuchi Chubei for the Shippo Gaisha
Company, Great Japan).

Comprising: one pair of vases with en-suite covers, each similarly
worked in gilt wire with a continuous design of a ho-o (phoenix) in
flight among autumn plants and flowers on a blue ground between
borders of foliate and geometric motifs, the covers with stylised
flowerheads, each 17cm high; the third a vase and cover, decorated
with four butterflies among autumnal flowers on a blue ground, signed
on the base Dai Nihon seizo Shippo Gaisha, 16cm high; the last a
vase and cover with an overall design of trailing pink flowers, signed
on the base Dai Nihon seizo Shippo Gaisha.

Comprising: a pair of baluster vases depicting birds in blossoming
branches, 24.5cm high; a casket decorated in relief with fish, 13cm
wide; a pin tray depicting a wading crane to the top and foliate
designs beneath and raised on bracket feet, 18cm wide; a small relief
enamelled vase depicting flowers on green ground, 11.5cm high; and
a plique-à-jour small bowl, (some damages).
