                                                              pattern, 15.2cm diameter; another with overglaze and gilt details of a
                                                              spotted deer, 16.6cm diameter; another depicting young pine trees,
                                                              20.2cm diameter, another with leaves and diaper panels highlighted

                                                              Each decorated in enamels and gilt, the first with a continuous design
                                                              of pilgrims visiting Nikko Toshogu, the mausoleum of Tokugawa
                                                              Ieyasu, a five-storied pagoda towering in the background beneath
                                                              a band of densely clustered seasonal flowers, signed on the base
                                                              Satsuma, 31.5cm high, the second a trumpet-form vase painted with
                                                              tasselled Buddhist brocades, bronze Chinese mirrors and associated
                                                              items, signed on the base Tozan sei.
