dated Xin Mao year, corresponding to 1891
The oviform bottle enamelled with three
Chinese dogs labelled with their names
amongst prunus and pine trees, with a further
inscription and red seals. 10cm (4in) high

The flattened, spade-shaped bottle carved
to one face in low relief with a sage playing
a zither on a boat, the reverse with a scholar
hermit fishing and being approached for
advice, matching cover.

OF-PEARL ‘BOY AND BUFFALO’ SNUFF
BOTTLE
Qianlong yuzhi seal mark, Qing Dynasty
The bottle finely carved as a recumbent water
buffalo, seated in swirling waves, with a young
cowherd forming the stopper, wood stand.
