               A CARVED AND RETICULATED WHITE JADE
               ‘CHRYSANTHEMUM’ BOX AND COVER
               QING DYNASTY, 17TH-18TH CENTURY
               The box is carved as a double chrysanthemum with rows of petals
               radiating from the convex base, raised on reticulated leafy stems
               bearing further small chrysanthemum blossoms. The similarly
               carved cover is surmounted by two butterflies. The stone is of an
               even pale tone with some snowy inclusions.
