NIMAI DÔ - RÜSTUNG MIT
ZUNARI KABUTO UND MASKE.
Japan. Edo period (1603 - 1868).
Iron, bronze, lacquer, leather, silk.
Okegawa tatehagi cuirass (nimai dô)
covered with leather, gessan with green
lacing. Watagami with textile kohire of
kikkô brigandine. Shoulder (sode) with
six parts. Etchû thigh protection (haidate)
with so - gusari chainmail, also shinogote.
Helmet zunari kabuto in hineno - form
with large fukigaeshi. Five - row shikoro,
maedate crescent - shaped, overpainted.
Hanbô mask with three - row tare, both
lacquered red inside. Condition C.
Altered, lacquered and parts replaced.
