Japan. Late Edo period (1603 - 1868) - Meiji Iron, bronze, lacquer, silk, leather.
period (1868 - 1912). Okegawa cuirass (nimai dô) in yokohagi
manner with matsu mon. Waki - and

(kabuto) from sixteen plates with typical tsuke - no - kan, watagami with textile
rivets. Mabizashi and fukigaeshi with kobire, kikkô reinforced. Gattari on the
stenciled leather (egawa). Maedate back. Seven parted gessan, each with five
with wisteria coat of arms (fuji mon). kozane gashira lames fitting the sode.
Three - row kasa jigoro. Meiji period. Etchû thigh protection (haidate) with
Okina - men mask with moustache, matsuba wa (knee guard), kaga - gote
three - row tare. b) Two smaller koishi and shoulder pieces (sode) in kebiki ai
gashira shoulder parts (ko - sode), kanagu oboshi. Pair of chained suneate splints.
mawari part of armor with red lacing, pair Condition C. Revised, lacquered and parts
of shin guards (shino suneate) and kawari replaced.
haidate. c) Pole weapon (sodegarami).

HELMET AND MASK.

HELM UND MASKE.
Japan. Edo period (1603 - 1868).
Iron, bronze, lacquer, silk, leather, fur.
Môgami cuirass (gomai dô) with bearskin
stripes at the lower edge, fan shaped
saihai tsuke - no - kan, kurijime - no - o - kan
and gattari. Kawara thigh protection
(haidate) with four rows, so - gusari sleeves
(kote) and shoulder pieces (sode) joint
together. Helmet (kabuto) composed
from twelve plates, one fukigaeshi
supplemented. Five - row shikoro with
structured lacquer (sabi urushi), tehen
flower - shaped, mabizashi with coat
of arms, maedate replaced. Half mask
(hanbô mempo) with three - step tare.
Condition C. Altered, lacquered and parts
replaced.
