A PALE GREYISH-WHITE JADE SCABBARD
AND A GILT-METAL-HANDLED DAGGER
18TH CENTURY
The jade scabbard is carved with dense leafy foral
scroll between key-fret borders, and has a shou
character-form knob on one side ftted with a small
gilt-metal ring for attachment. The gilt-metal hilt is
similarly decorated and is ftted with an agate pommel
decorated with further key fret.

A very similar imperial gilt-bronze-handled dagger, but
with a white jadeite scabbard, was sold at Christie’s
