with a round snout, pointed fangs and terminating with a curled 16號
tail.

A jade tiger of almost identical form was excavated at a site in Tanjialing,
Hubei (fig. 1), dating to post-Shijiahe culture, illustrated in the website

of The Institute of Archaeology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
