AN INSIDE-PAINTED CRYSTAL SNUFF BOTTLE
SIGNED MENG ZISHOU, BEIJING, 7TH MONTH, GUICHOU YEAR (1913)
The bottle is carved on either side with a lotus plant and painted on the interior with fish
swimming amidst water weeds. One side is painted in the upper portion with an inscription
incorporating the cyclical date guichou, corresponding to 1913, and the artist’s signature,
Meng Zishou.
