The present lot is unusual, being apparently
designed as a wucai piece, but never completed
with the addition of enamels and a second firing.
It nevertheless remains an attractive and intriguing
piece, demonstrating a break in the stages of
production, and inviting the viewer to imagine what
scene may have been intended from the clues
provided by the underglaze blue.
