A famille verte rouleau vase
Kangxi
Vividly decorated in enamels of bright tone with
a pair of confronted birds flying above blooming
chrysanthemum borne on undulating leafy stems,
with a cricket and a praying mantis perching on
leaves below butterflies in flight, all between a border
of petal lappets below and bands of ruyi heads, key-
fret and upright leaves above.

the present lot is particularly fine. A vase with related
elegant decoration of birds is illustrated in Selected
Porcelain of the Flourishing Qing Dynasty at the
