A HUANGHUALI ‘DREAMSTONE’ FRAMED TABLE SCREEN
Early Qing Dynasty
The cream marble panel variegated with grey and brown vein conjuring
the impression of mountain and mist and inset within a huanghuali
frame supported by two U-shaped feet and an apron below a panel
carved with hollow cartouches, and flanked by two half-vase aprons
on each side, the wood of dark-brown tone.

Ming Dynasty, sold at Sotheby’s Hong Kong, 6 October 2015, lot
138; compare also with a huanghuali dreamstone table screen, 18th
century, which was sold at Christie’s New York, 28 November 2012,
lot 2001.

黃花梨為材，長方形邊框，兩側下方夾寶瓶狀站牙，承以橋型墩子，牙
板之上安縧環板，淺挖兩組縧環，框內安雲石，白地綠花，成山水煙雲
之貌。

此屏簡潔明朗，不著贅飾，其不透風縧環板做法頗少見。可參考一件
明末黃花梨鑲大理石案屏， 2015年10月6日售於香港蘇富比，拍品編
號138。又可比較一件十八世紀黃花梨雲石插屏，2012年11月28日售
於佳士得紐約，拍品編號2001。
