           Philanthropy was a family tradition for the Roussets. His paternal   Krishna and the gopis of India (MA 3351), a terracotta votive plaque
           uncle Robert Rousset (1901-1981), his mentor and in 1934 the head   representing an Indian deity (MA 3342), a Southeast Asian baluster
           of the gallery of the Compagnie de la Chine et des Indes, had set the   vase (MA 3562), a remarkable set of seventy-five Chinese mingqi
           example through the many gifts he made as early as the 1920s to the  from the Wei and Han dynasties (MA 4651 - 4726), a terracotta turtle
           Musée Guimet in Paris and which continued in 1971, 1974 and 1978,   from the Han dynasty (MA 13113), a stone torso of a woman from
           giving rise to the "Salle Robert Rousset". Located in the rotunda   Madhya Pradesh 10th and 11th century (MA 4727), a magnificent
           on the 2nd floor, this space was specially and carefully fitted out to   Khmer stone torso from the Baphuon from the 11th century
           accommodate the hundred or so pieces given, including a statue of   (MA 4728) and a Khmer stone statue of the bodhisattva Lokesvara
           Avalokitesvara from Nepal-Tibet (MA 3343), a painting representing   (MA 4985).
