fashioned in a chignon, fastened with a pin,
the robes falling in elaborate pleats, incised
around the shoulders with lotus sprays,

with one arm wrapped around the other’s
shoulder, one holding an ingot, the other
a lobed box and cover, on a stepped
rectangular base with bracket-lobed edges.

peach, the robes with a heart-shaped aperture
on the back, the vessel base modelled as
a rocky outcrop issuing lingzhi with a stag
raising its head to one side.
