                                                                              With circular top and constricted waist
                                                                              supported on five flanged tall curling legs
                                                                              terminating in curving ‘slipper’ feet standing
                                                                              on a circular plinth, finely decorated with
                                                                              designs of bats amidst wispy clouds and
                                                                              beaded scrolls, all between leiwen bands and
                                                                              above blossoming flowers.

                                                                              PRUNUS-FORM BOX AND COVER
                                                                              Qianlong
                                                                              The cover crisply carved in intaglio within a
                                                                              central reserve with two figures, one bearing
                                                                              a fan, and a youthful attendant standing on
                                                                              a willow terrace approaching a bridge over
                                                                              a wide meandering river dotted with lotus
                                                                              clusters, above five lobes variously carved
                                                                              with leafy blossoming branches on a squared-
                                                                              spiral ground, the box base with five floral
                                                                              lobes matching the cover.
