The rounded body rising from a flaring foot, decorated with four panels Early 17th century
of gentlemen and scholars in riverside gardens and mountainous Robustly potted, the mythical beast standing four-square, with a bell
landscapes on a ground of scrolling flowers and foliage and smaller at the chest and a curled upswept tail at the rear, the bulbous body
landscape panels, the foot with scattered blossoms and waves. painted in cobalt blue with large coin on each side on a scale-pattern
35cm (13 3/4in) high. ground, the chest decorated with prunus-flower heads on a speckled
ground, standing on four scale-pattern legs, with a later metal cover,
