A SILVER-INLAID BRONZE FIGURE OF A
SEATED GUANYIN
LATE MING-EARLY QING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
The deity is shown seated in rajalilasana, her robes falling
gracefully around the body decorated with clouds and scrolling
pattern outlined in silver inlay. The deity is modelled with
a serene expression with downcast eyes, the hair gathered in
a topknot and her urna inlaid with a silver bead. Her back is
further inscribed with the characters, Shisou.
