Crisply carved as a single-masted boat with sail, the
shelter and rigging intricately incised creating the
texture of rope and wicker, an oarsman at the helm
depicted resting while another continues to row
steadily, the stone of even pale-white tone, carved
wood stand.

A SAMPAN WITH FIGURES
19th century
Deftly carved with a figure at the helm hoisting the
sail while another two oarsmen steer the boat, the
sides of the boat carved with a key-fret border, the
stone of pale celadon tone with some inclusions,
carved wood stand.
