A RED OVERLAY TRANSPARENT GLASS ‘ELEPHANT’
SNUFF BOTTLE
1770-1840
Formed from bubble suffused transparent glass cased in red
translucent glass, the casing carved to form a caparisoned elephant
with head turned back, supporting on its back a vase with a flat lip,
the feet of the elephant surrounding the rounded foot and providing
support.
