TWO HINGED FOUR-PART ENAMELED SILVER MEDICINE
BOTTLES
1850-1911
The first comprising flattened rectangular bottles, two with covers
and two with cylindrical necks and stoppers, one side chased with
bird and flower panels, reversed by panels enclosing the names of
the medicines; the second comprising square-sectioned bottles, one
side incised with the names of the medicines; both highlighted with
enamels, with makers’ marks.

A JASPER ‘FOREIGNER’ SNUFF BOTTLE
1800-1850
Of flattened, rounded form, the tubular neck with a flat lip, supported
on a low oval foot ring, the ocher inclusion on one side carved to form
the image of a foreigner riding a camel, standing out against the dark
192 mottled green ground, the other side unadorned except for a feathery
ocher inclusion.
