TWO CELADON JADE ANIMALS
19th century
The first, a carving of a recumbent ram with its four
legs tucked neatly underneath its body and its head
facing forward and supporting a pair of downward
curving horns, the stone a pale green hue with
russet inclusions; the second carved in the form of
a crouching cub with its feet tucked under its body
and the head turned to the left, the head detailed
with two pointed ears above protruding eyes and
210 flaring nostrils, the stone a mottled pale green hue
with dark-russet inclusions. (2)

A CELADON JADE CARVING OF A QILIN
19th century
Seated with its legs tucked neatly under the body,
the head turned towards its haunches and grasping
a flowering pomegranate spray issuing two open
blooms, the stone an even pale green hue with pale
inclusions.

A CELADON JADE CARVING OF A SCHOLAR
18th century
Carved as a seated bearded figure, possibly the
Tang dynasty poet Li Bai, dressed in a hat and
flowing robes, holding a wine cup aloft in his right
hand, the stone of pale hue with dark brown and
white inclusions.
