GODDESSES

Rare, large stele presenting
a four-armed Vishnu on a
lotus base, considered to
be the great ‘preserve’ and
manifestation of goodness.
In the four hands are the
attributes indicative for this
god - the club gada and wheel
cakra, which is also a sun
symbol. The one lower hand
displays the gesture of ‘wish
fulfi llment’, varadamudra.
The other holds the attribute
shankha, a shell, symbol
for the origin of all life.
Both lowered hands rest on
lotus blossoms. Vishnu is
accompanied by two female
goddesses standing in
tribhanga, left is Lakshmi with

This Buddha is depicted in the half lotus seat Schulerstraße
on a pedestal. In this position his left leg is laid
