Of ovoid shape, intricately enameled to depict a scholar being attended
upon by his boy acolyte within a rocky pine grove, the underside bearing
the four-character mark in iron red (prominent discolored hairline crack).

Two sides covered in floral sprigs and two sides in archaistic inscriptions,
one bearing a bingzi nian date (equivalent to 1936), the deeply recessed
underside bearing a partially effaced makers’ mark reading Jiangxi [yan]ya
chupin in iron red enamels.
